This course introduces you to the basics of music notation and promises to have you reading and playing tunes off the page, in no time at all.
You’ll follow my new method for mastering music literacy – 4 simple steps, all based around traditional music.
This course includes:
- Video lessons
- Blogs and written guides
- 1000+ Practice exercises and drills
- Downloadable tips and cheatsheets
Here’s how it works:
There are 20 Modules, each of them broken up into smaller lessons.
Module 1 gives you a general overview of the course and helps you to get started.
Modules 2-13 will take you through the 4 Step Method, one small section at a time. Each step will be explained, demonstrated – and then you get to practice it, using lots of drills and exercises especially created for you. These build up progressively, from short simple examples right up to full tunes.
By the end of Module 13 you will be able to sight-read Polkas, right off the page!
After that, you get to apply the method to the other tune types.
For Jigs and Reels, I’ve broken them down into a lot of detail. You’ll find these in Modules 14 and 15. I do recommend that you work through all of the material in each step. But, you can fast-track through it if you’d prefer, trying only one or two examples in leach lesson, rather than the whole lot!
Modules 16 and 17 look at the other tune types – and any additional bits and piece you need to help you read any traditional tune you come across in any book or website.
You can complete the course at Module 18 if you wish – don’t forget to claim your certificate here!
There are TWO bonus modules for you here as well. Learn how to write down tunes for yourself. And learn how to read the Bass Clef. So, if you want to cover every angle, give these a go too!
